Shintaro Sakamoto

Shintaro Sakamoto (born September 9, 1967 in Osaka) is a Japanese music composer, producer, writer and singer based in Tokyo.

He began his career in 1989 as a member of the rock band “Yura Yura Teikoku”, where he played guitar and sang.

Over the course of 21 years, Yura Yura Teikoku released 3 cassette tapes, 10 original albums, 1 original mini album, 2 live albums, 1 remix album and a double-CD best-of compilation.

In 2006, a collection of his art work was published under the title “SHINTARO SAKAMOTO ARTWORKS 1994-2006″.

In 2010, Yura Yura Teikoku disbanded. They released a 2 DVD box set shortly thereafter.

In 2011, Sakamoto wrote the lyrics for three songs on salyu×salyu’s album “s(o)un(d)beams” . Then he launched a solo career and started his own record label, “zelone records”.
