Shintaro Sakamoto Releases 3rd Single “Numb” from New Album Yoo-Hoo — Live In-Studio Music Video Out Today
From Shintaro Sakamoto’s upcoming fifth studio album Yoo-Hoo, set for release this Friday, January 23, the third advance single, “Numb,” is out today on digital platforms.
In addition, a studio live music video for “Numb” will premiere today, Monday, January 19.
The video was filmed at Peace Music, the same studio where Yoo-Hoo was recorded, and features a live performance captured on site. This exclusive live recording can only be experienced through this music video.
The MV was directed by Yasuyuki Yamaguchi. Performers include the Shintaro Sakamoto Band:
Shintaro Sakamoto (Vocals & Guitar), AYA (Bass), Yuta Suganuma (Drums), Tetsu Nishiuchi (Saxophone). Recording was handled by Soichiro Nakamura.
Yoo-Hoo will be released worldwide on digital platforms this Friday, January 23, alongside a domestic CD release and an advance LP release in Japan. The CD edition will be a special 2-disc set, including a bonus CD featuring instrumental versions of all 10 album tracks.

Today, Shintaro Sakamoto has shared a live in-studio performance video for his latest single, “Is There A Place For You There?”, which premiered yesterday via Post-Trash, directed by Yasuyuki Yamaguchi. The recording took place last month at Peace Music studio in Tokyo, where Sakamoto recorded his upcoming LP Yoo-hoo, due January 23, 2026 release via Zelone Records. Performed by the Shintaro Sakamoto Band – Shintaro Sakamoto (Vocal & Guitar), AYA (Bass), Yuta Suganuma (Drums), Tetsu Nishiuchi (Flute) – with the recording engineered by Soichiro Nakamura, this in-studio version is exclusive to this video release. “Is There A Place For You There?” was featured last week as a KCRW ‘Today’s Top Tune’. Shintaro Sakamoto’s highly anticipated new album “Yoo-hoo” is set to be released on Friday, January 23, 2026. 2nd digital single from the album, “Is There A Place For You There?”, was released today, Wednesday, November 19.
Shintaro Sakamoto has just wrapped up his third U.S. tour and performances in Mexico. His new album “Yoo-hoo”, released for the first time in about three and a half years, reflects his recent live experiences abroad while showcasing a diverse range of sounds, including blues, mood kayō, 1960s soul, surf instrumentals, and funk. The lyrics, captured from his unique perspective, are truly one of a kind. The album features a total of 10 new tracks, including the October digital single “Dear Grandpa.”
